Btw the danger of polluting the timeline. 

That is disturbing the path of history by just breathing the air of the past. 

This seems not a problem as timelines we're discovering are profoundly robust. 

Other than an attempt at major change the small visits have no effect whatever. 

Indeed attempts for major change don't work. Every attempt to kill Hitler or save JFK fails. 

The assassins or rescuers returned to their original time unharmed. 

The timeline is human proof. Look, but you can't touch,...much. 

I did buy a hat in 1948, and left behind a 2018 $5 dollar bill. 

No changes happened. Indeed my 2018 $5 bill showed up on eBay. 

This as a strangely aged banknote. 

...I bought it, and closed that circle. The multi-verse is very tidy.
