Though I don't like to admit it, charity is basically a Christian concept. The Greeks and Romans didn't have it to speak of. Hospitality, yes - receiving a stranger hospitably was viewed favorably by Zeus; charity, not so much.
Actually yeah Charity the concept of forgiveness even a sustained sort of loving kindness all come from various manifestations of the christian cult.A sense that literacy might be a good idea as well. At least from a few peripheral sects.Mind you all these are actively suppressed or distorted for reasons of control by the powerful branches of the faith.
